One-hour processing

Probably, some places still offer that, even though they don’t advertise it much, having such a niche audience. Almost-instant film processing, though, was once a huge breakthrough.

One-hour processing was a service for the film in your camera once extracted from your camera. The film was turned into negatives then positives.

The one hour didn’t include the walk to the chemist and back, which as Douglas Adams pointed out, can feel pretty long.

  1. Funny old world department: You used to pay for prints and get them in an hour. Now, free photo print sites offer just that, free prints, and you get them in a week. Who’d have predicted that?
